After eating an amazing salad for 3 days straight from the local coffeeshop, Jason challenged me to cooking a different salad everyday for a week. I don’t think I made it through the week because once I plated this salad it was over!! I don’t think I could top this one. It is seriously addicting. Tangy Asian flavors mixed with grilled flank steak, crunchy cucumbers, sweet apples all on top of a bed of Ramen noodles. (I am a sucker for Ramen Noodles, I can’t lie). Continue reading

Ginger Seared Scallops and Mushrooms
I was always reluctant about cooking seafood as I don’t have a car in San Francisco and I am the type of person who wants to cook something the same day I buy the ingredients. Yes, I know I am so Euro!
Just a few weeks ago Mollie Stone’s (my new favorite local San Francisco market) opened up on my street. Lucky me! So when I saw these huge, plump FRESH scallops I had to make them!
They were as good as they look. I served them on a bed of local mixed mushrooms that I sauteed with salt, pepper and spring onions. They rocked!
Thanks Mollie Stone’s! PS. Follow them on Twitter! They have awesome Social Media skills!
Honoring Jack LaLanne – Juicy Juice
Chefanie Wambach texted me this morning to tell me Jack LaLanne, juicing & health guru died. My only response was “NOOOO!!”
He was the cutest old man I have ever seen, or at least on late night infomercials. Anytime I flip through the channels and see it on I will literally watch the whole thing. And this is not a new occurrence. I have been a fan of his since I was a little girl. Although I never had a juicer until recently, it never stopped me from appreciating his love for the fruits & veggies of this earth. Everything about him makes me happy including his rhyming wife’s name – Elaine LaLanne.
So after 20 years of watching the infomercial we finally bought a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and I honestly think it has changed my life. Besides making fresh juices, it is great for salad dressings too.
Jason and I are juice fasting this weekend and I guess now we have a new intention to bring to the experience – honoring the life of Jack LaLanne.
Here are a few of my favorite juices for you to enjoy! To a long and healthy and happy life!
